Britain is favored by many foreign students and their parents because of its excellent educational resources. The education system in Britain is different from that in China. Today, I will briefly talk about the different stages of British education to help parents have a preliminary understanding of the British education system, so as to better plan for their children's future education.

Generally speaking, education in Britain is mainly divided into three stages:

  • Compulsory Education

  • Further Education

  • Higher Education

On this basis, it is subdivided into five stages:

  • Early basic education stage

  • Primary Education stage

  • Secondary Education stage

  • Further Education stage

  • Higher Education stage

Compulsory Education in Britain is from the age of 4 to the age of 16, and children with parents' status (such as work visa and entrepreneurship visa) are free of tuition. Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS Further Education and Higher Education all require fees, and there are different standards for local students and international students.

About visas: Many top private schools do not provide student visas, so parents need to solve the long-term visa problem themselves.

About tuition fees: the fees charged by local students and international students in higher education are different, and the fees charged by international students are more than three times that of local students.

About admission: the admission rate of local students in top universities is much higher than that of international students.

In short, parents need to plan ahead if they want to get more and better educational resources.
