Best Independent Schools GCSE Rankings 2023

This table lists the top 100 independent schools in the UK based on their GCSE and GCSE results in 2023. The rankings are determined by the percentage of exam results in which each school achieved A*/A or Years 9, 8 and 7.

1. Unless otherwise stated, all exam results data are for results released in summer 2023. Data is compiled from reliable official sources and updated as sufficient results become available. Results are updated and revised whenever new information becomes available.

2. U/A = results are not available. N/A = the school does not offer the course.

3. It is common practice to grade exam results as a percentage of A*-A (A-level), 7,8,9 (GCSE) or average IB grades per candidate. However, the format in which the data is presented (in particular the column headings and calculations envisaged for subject-specific league tables and BTEC league tables) is SLE's copyrighted material, protected by database rights.
